Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood situated in the West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" area. The people who aren't familiar with this term frequently think that it's an island that's in the west of Montreal however, this part of West Island is home to every aspect of the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently mentioned, but her brief time in the city wasn't. Brugel lived in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. Her first ambition was to be a dancer. However, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew every dance partner she was able to have. She admitted in an article that was published in the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. When I grew out of male companions, that's when I gave up. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the instance of Brugel,, it was the result of a recommendation by her drama teacher. Her teacher invited her to audition for a part in her school's production. Following a trial her options, she was eventually the lead actress for Anne of Green Gables. She was given an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program which she completed from the program in 2000, earning a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Over the past 20 years since Brugel has landed roles on more than 60 productions across both small and large screens drawing the most interest when she was offered the part as Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel played the role of the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale the series produced over the course of ten years.
